Based in San Francisco, Dr. Cox participates in NERA’s Intellectual
Property, Antitrust, and Securities and Finance Practices. He has extensive
testimonial experience, particularly in the semiconductor, biotechnology,
retailing, telecommunications, and energy industries. He has
estimated damages in intellectual property matters involving semiconductor
process and design patents, biotechnology patents, golf ball trade
secrets, disputes over technology sharing agreements, and patent fraud.
He has also testified on antitrust allegations arising from licensing practices,
and on antitrust issues in Robinson-Patman Act matters, matters
involving allegations of price fixing, and attempts to monopolize. In securities
and finance matters, he has filed reports in class action securities
fraud cases and affidavits on class certification, the impact of allegedly
disparaging statements on securities prices, and a wide array of financial
damages. Dr. Cox has previously held positions as a Senior Vice President
at LECG and as a Visiting Economist at the Massachusetts Institute of
Technology’s Energy Laboratory.
