Dr. David provides research and testimony for projects associated with
intellectual property matters and other business disputes. He has developed
testimony for cases involving patent infringement, trademark and
trade dress violations, theft of trade secrets, and other disputes associated
with technology agreements. These cases have included the determination
of economic damages related to technologies such as electronic
funds transfer, heart-surgery devices, hand-held diagnostic instruments,
remote thermometers, semiconductors, and printed circuit board manufacturing.
He has also conducted valuation analyses for intangible assets
in the context of due diligence, insurance purchases, and litigation risk
assessments. As part of his role at NERA, Dr. David researches and tracks
recent trends in patent litigation and the effects of litigation on patent
value. He also writes and speaks frequently on intellectual property issues
and other topics.
