Dr. Johnson’s work at NERA focuses on the use of econometric methods
in litigation. He has extensive experience with intellectual property,
antitrust, and labor matters involving estimation of damages, allegations
of price fixing, and economic analyses with large transaction and demographic
data sets, including volume of commerce calculations, pricing
analyses, and econometric damages modeling. He has also developed economic
arguments in class certification matters and has worked on a variety
of merger and competition policy issues. Prior to joining NERA, Dr.
Johnson was an Assistant Professor of Economics and Labor and
Industrial Relations at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign,
where he taught courses in labor economics, with a special focus on discrimination
in the labor market.
