Dr. Wu specializes in intellectual property, antitrust, and health care economics.
He is an expert in the application of econometrics and statistical
methods and in the use of consumer surveys in litigation. He also has
experience assessing antitrust issues related to the licensing of intellectual
property, including patent pools. His areas of specialization include
health care services and medical devices. Dr. Wu has provided written and
oral expert testimony on numerous occasions, including testimony in U.S.
district courts and presentations before the Federal Trade Commission
(FTC), the United States Department of Justice, and the European
Commission. He also has been retained as an economic expert in price
fixing and other antitrust litigation to assess issues related to liability and
damages. In addition, he has published articles in The Antitrust Bulletin,
Antitrust Report, European Competition Law Review, Journal of Business
Venturing, and Medical Care, and he is the editor of a book, Economics of
Antitrust: New Issues, Questions, and Insights. Prior to joining NERA, Dr.
Wu was a staff economist in the FTC’s Bureau of Economics.
