Dr. Valenti specializes in the economics of intellectual property, the economics
of antitrust, and the economics of commercial disputes. Her
intellectual property practice focuses on the valuation of patents and the
calculation of damages resulting from patent infringement. Her work in
antitrust includes assessing the competitive effects of mergers and joint
ventures in several industries, as well as analyzing market power issues
such as price fixing, price discrimination, predatory pricing, and standard
setting. In addition, as part of her commercial disputes practice, Dr.
Valenti conducts research on liability and damages in disputes related to
breach of contract and business interference. Prior to joining NERA, Dr.
Valenti worked as a consultant at the World Bank. She has written papers
on topics including literacy, child health, poverty, and inequality in developing
countries.
